The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who completed the inauguration, said the additional building was equipped with 56 beds.
He said before, the hospital only had 24 beds and is now equipped with a total of 80 beds.
“The new building will give more satisfaction to the Jeli residents who are hospitalized.
“In the past, Hospital Jeli is one of the small hospitals in the country, but it is now being upgraded and provides comfort to patients,” he said in his speech on the inauguration of Jeli Hospital Supplement Building, here today.
Also present were Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
He said health services in the country were the best in the world.
In addition, he said although Kelantan was led by the opposition, the Federal Government could not punish and punish its people.
“I hold the principle of being a leader who will be fair to all while building other facilities including the East Coast Railways Project (ECRL) in the state.
“In addition, several new hospitals built at Bachok Hospital, Kuala Krai Hospital are expected to be completed by September,” he said.
