Background
Yan Hospital is a government hospital located in Yan, Kedah, Malaysia.
Yan Hospital is located at Yan Kechil, 40 km from Sungai Petani and 42 km from Alor Setar. The hospital was built in 1989 on 25 hectares of land and was inaugurated by the Tunku Sultan Kedah Sultanate of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on 3 October 1992. It opened on 2 February 1992 to serve Yan residents of 74,000 people . Outpatient Services began on 15 February 1992 and the Patient Services began on 1 March 1992.
Yan Hospital is a non-specialist district hospital providing outpatient and inpatient services. The specialist treatment for certain disciplines is carried out by specialists from Alor Setar Hospital and Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in accordance with the prescribed schedule. Cases that require further treatment or expert will also be referred to there.
Yan Hospital has 89 official beds in 4 wards, 12 beds in Ward Melor 1 (Maternity Ward), 17 beds in Ward Melor 2 (Ward Children), 30 beds in Wad Melor 3 (Ward Women) and 30 beds in Wad Melor 4 (Men’s Ward).
Yan Hospital is an internship for some of the nearby IPTs such as AIMST at Semeling.
