Background

Sungai Buloh Hospital is located approximately 25km from Kuala Lumpur in Mukim Batu, Gombak, Selangor. In 1999, a development project of this new Sungai Buloh Hospital (130 acre) was initiated to accommodate the needs of a growing population and crowded around the area and also to reduce the influx of patients at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

The new hospital has 620 beds, and will provide various medical services secondari and tertiary services.

Sungai Buloh Hospital has been identified as a center of excellence ( ‘center of excellence’) for;

The hospital service coverage area is the district of Gombak, Petaling and Kuala Selangor District where the population in these three areas make up 40% of the total population in the State which is approximately 2.18 million inhabitants.
