Hospital Selayang set up for help an individual achieve and maintain a health standard to enable him to carry out productive economic and social life

This can be achieved by providing efficient, effective and effective treatment, rehabilitation, treatment and rehabilitation services with emphasis on underprivileged groups.

Background

Hospital Selayang is a hospital with 960 inpatient beds and 20 clinical disciplines located in Selayang in the Gombak District, Selangor. This hospital provides secondary and selected national tertiary care services.

In the planning and implementation of Selayang Hospital, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken cognisance of the objective of Vision 2020 whereby Malaysia shall reach the status of a developed country by 2020, and of the MOH vision. This implies that Selayang Hospital is designed and equipped to meet world class standards.

Hospital Selayang has been designed, constructed and equipped for a Total Hospital Information System (T.H.I.S.) environment with the ultimate aim of paperless and filmless hospital operation. It is the first hospital in Malaysia and the world to operate with T.H.I.S. covering all aspects of its operation.

In order to meet the objective of the state of the art facility, a highly qualified effective organisation, operation and management has to be ensured for the success of this hospital.

Hospital Selayang is a centre for Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Hepatology, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Microsurgery, and Renal Service.

Being a referral hospital it provides specialist outpatient service for referred cases only. There is no walk-in outpatient service except for emergency cases seen in the Emergency Department.

This hospital also focuses on ambulatory care service. For this Hospital Selayang has a dedicated multidisciplinary Ambulatory Care Centre consisting of day care surgery, medical day care, endoscopy and lithotripter service.

We are committed to provide professional, safe, quality, friendly and caring healthcare services.

  • Priority will be given to critical cases and semi-critical cases by ensuring waiting time are as follows:Emergencv & Trauma

– Critical cases (Red Zone)will be treated immediately.

– Semi-critical cases (Yellow Zone)will be treated within 30 minutes.

– Non-critical cases (Green Zone)will be treated within 90 minutes up180                              minutes according to priority of the patient’s condition.

  • Services in Specialist Clinic will be provided accordingto registration number and/or patient’s condition. Priority will be given to children, pregnant mother, senior citizens, patient with disabilities, pensioners, and cases that are accompanied by police, teacher and healthcare worker from healthcare institution.
  • Ensure at least 29Oo/o cases will be seen by doctors within 90 minutes after acquisition of laboratory/diagnostic results in Specialist Clinic.
  • Provision of an appropriate information regardingtreatment plan, risk, available options, uphold respect and confidentiality to the client.
  • Refers client to other hospital or institution for services that are not available in this hospital.
  • Provision of a written Acknowledgment of Complaint Acceptance to the complainant within one (1) working day after the complaint is received.
